Giulio Bonaccio is a DJ, multi-instrumentalist, and watch trader with decades of experience. His personal collection runs deep with complicated watches, especially chronographs. Giulio sits down with Chrono24 to show three particular watches that don’t get the attention they deserve.

Great Watches Under $5,000

Omega Speedmaster Mark II 145.014

As Omega Speedmaster prices rise higher and higher, one has to look harder and harder to find a good deal. The Omega Speedmaster Mark II (ref. 145.014) offers buyers a chance to not only tap into the famed Speedy lineage, but also collect a piece of the early 1970s design zeitgeist. The brushed and polished finishes add a layer of visual intrigue to the tonneau-shaped case, and for something even more eye-catching, check out the racing variation with its signature red and orange accents.

Enthusiast’s Corner: Rare and Exceptional Timepieces

Patek Philippe 5208R

It’s time to bring out the big guns. If money is no object, and you’re in the mood to impress, consider the Patek Philippe 5208R. Giulio is a fan of complications, as you can tell, and this is a shining example of that passion. The 5208R features a chronograph, perpetual calendar, moonphase, and minute repeater. This wealth of information is beautifully balanced on the dial, and if you flip the watch over, you’ll find a movement resembling a small metropolis ticking away.

Iconic Timepieces: Great Value for the Money

Breitling Navitimer 1461

Feast your eyes on the buffet of complications found within the Breitling Navitimer 1461. You’re guaranteed at least three subdials with a chronograph, annual calendar, and either a moonphase or 52-week calendar, depending on the variation. This Navitimer has perhaps the most text that you’ll find on any watch, which just shows how much Breitling has managed to squeeze into an already complicated timepiece.
