De Bethune Kind of Two Tourbillon: The most exclusive GMT?
Are you a globetrotter looking for a watch that can show you the right time wherever you are? Well, Swiss watch manufacture De Bethune has created perhaps the most exceptional GMT watch we have ever seen – just as many of us resume international travel. Limited to under a dozen copies, this watch is a combination of technology and poetry. As complex as the design might seem, De Bethune’s new travel watch with a new in-house GMT caliber is quite simple to use: First, you set your home time using the crown. This time is represented by the central set of tempered blue hands. There’s also a microsphere that, together with a 24-hour scale, serves as a day/night indicator. At the center of the curved dial, the brand provides us with a stunning representation of our sky, both day and night. Here, a radiating sun in polished rose gold sits in the upper half, while the lower half features a night sky in polished tempered blue titanium with white gold stars.
MB&F: Lotus, Eye, or Clock?
As a watch nerd, you have probably heard of MB&F and its super futuristic and unconventional watch designs. “One of our biggest challenges is to continuously surprise people,” explains the brand’s chief communications officer, Charris Yadigaroglou, to Chrono24 magazine. So, what better way to surprise people than debuting a clock instead of a watch at one of the first in-person watch events since the start of the coronavirus pandemic? That’s exactly what the brand did in collaboration with the clockmakers at L’Epée 1839. To be honest, the clock is itself already quite a surprise. You can put it in different positions; one way, it looks like a flower, and if you close the “wings,” it resembles a human eye.

Are you a fan of iconic classic American cars, such as the 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 427, 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390, and 1965 Shelby Cobra 427? If so, do we have some good news for you! Breitling has just announced three new models inspired by those three automobiles in the Top Time Classic Cars Capsule collection. While many other brands design watches based on popular European cars from the likes of Porsche, Ferrari, or McLaren, vintage American vehicles have remained fairly underrepresented in watchmaking so far. Thus, the time had come for someone to finally create models for this large, relatively untapped fanbase, and Breitling answered the call.
