Portuguese national hero, sexiest soccer player alive, dedicated father, and one of the greatest soccer legends of all time – there are many words to describe Cristiano Ronaldo. You might also know that he’s a watch aficionado with an impressive collection worth an estimated $10 million and a brand ambassador for Jacob & Co.
Ronaldo’s Rolex GMT-Master II Iced Out: One of the Most Expensive Rolexes
Now, no collection of this caliber is getting away without a few models from the Swiss Brand with the crown. What started with a Rolex Daytona ref. 116520 in stainless steel, quickly developed into a passion for more expressive and exclusive timepieces. Do you think of a clean, tooly sports watch when you hear the Rolex GMT-Master II name mentioned? Cristiano Ronaldo does something entirely different with his white gold, completely iced-out, 30-karat white diamond model. Ronaldo’s shiny GMT-Master II is one of the most expensive Rolex watches ever produced. It was made completely in-house at Rolex, with each individual gem set by hand.
Jacob & Co. and Ronaldo: The Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon CR7
What makes Cristiano Ronaldo’s customized Jacob & Co. $1.5M tourbillon watch so special? It’s covered with 232 baguette-cut white diamonds and 109 black sapphires, totaling 21 carats of precious stones. Not only the material is rare and extraordinary, but also the dial: a miniature version of the Bugatti W16 engine – CR7 owns a $3 million Bugatti himself. Press a button, and the engine comes to life, with 16 tiny pistons pumping up and down inside. The commemorative timepiece also proudly features Cristiano Ronaldo’s “Cr7” logo in the center of the skeletonized dial.
Ronaldo’s Franck Muller Tourbillon Ref. 7008 T INV C INV R: Shiny Mystery
One of the most famous and expensive pieces in CR7’s impressive watch collection is the Franck Muller Tourbillon. This timepiece is covered with baguette diamonds and costs around $2 million. The diamonds are even adjusted with a technique known as serti mysterieux (mysterious setting) that displays no visible mounting.
Ronaldo’s Hublot “Masterpiece” MP-09 Tourbillon Bi-Axis King Gold
What would a collection of big, expressive watches be without a Hublot? Ronaldo’s Hublot of choice is the 49-mm “Masterpiece” MP-09 Tourbillon Bi-Axis King Gold, a one-piece-only special edition exclusively created for him. It features an 18-karat rose gold case – and of course a diamond-set bezel. Another eye-catcher of this model (besides all the bling) is its biaxial tourbillon that’s part of a Hublot in-house movement featuring a five-day power reserve. Estimated price: $1 million.
Girard-Perregaux Planetarium Tri-Axial
As you’ve probably figured out: diamonds are Cristiano Ronaldo’s best friend – at least on his wrist. His piece unique by Girard-Perregaux, the Planetarium Tri-Axial, features a bezel and bracelet completely set with gems. If that doesn’t make your jaw drop, the hand-painted globe and triple-axis tourbillon on the dial probably will – not to mention the estimated price of about $2 million.
