Is it the end of watch events as we know them? The news that Baselworld won’t take place in 2021 – at least not in its usual form – has us wondering about the future of watch events in general. Are large trade fairs still relevant, or has the watch industry finally fully embraced the digital age? This year’s Watches & Wonders releases were exclusively debuted online in a flood of press releases and magazine articles – in large part due to the coronavirus, of course. To be honest, we’re still on the fence about the whole thing.
