Whether you use it for inspiration, information, and entertainment, Instagram certainly makes it hard to put your smartphone down. Our authors regularly search the platform for the most interesting accounts – purely for research purposes, of course! With images of rare watches, the wardrobes of well-dressed gentlemen, nearly forgotten classic cars, and brilliant photography all around, we’ve discovered four accounts that are worthy of your attention.
With almost 13k followers and tons of cool Rolex wrist shots, @missdatejust, a.k.a. Marianne from Sweden, has a clear love of travel, fashion, and watches with that famous crown! If you’re imagining that all she posts are Lady Datejust models, think again! This lady can take a mean photograph of a two-tone Submariner, too. In addition to Rolex, some models from Tudor also wind up in her feed, as well as her most recent acquisition: a Patek Philippe Nautilus 3900. The only thing we don’t know is what this watch collector looks like…

When taking a closer look at today’s watch industry, there’s no ignoring Rexhep Rexhepi. You’ll often find this name connected to the likes of Philippe Dufour, which says a lot. Rexhepi was trained by Patek Philippe. His career then led him to Francois-Paul Journe before he ultimately began producing his own watches. This highly praised watchmaker owns the brand @akrivia, which he founded at age 25 in 2012. His Instagram account offers behind-the-scenes glimpses into his watchmaking and shows off his latest works of art. It’s certainly no small task to get the traditional Swiss watch industry in an uproar and make a lasting name for yourself, but he has succeeded at both. Rexhepi represents a new generation of “approachable” watchmakers. This account is a must-follow for every fan of haute horlogerie!
Watch enthusiasts often pose the question: “New or vintage?” This account makes its answer known through images! Rare vintage watches are the focus of this profile. While this Italian gentleman and collector has nothing against the Hulk or ceramic Daytonas, his heart is clearly set on only the most special models. So, for example, we get to admire vintage chronographs from Audemars Piguet, Universal Genève, and Rolex that you don’t see every day. It’s the selection of watches that really sets this account apart. As a further testament to his passion, he also recently co-authored an article on the aforementioned Universal Genève Film Compax together with Sacha Davidoff, an author at Fratellowatches.
After three watch-heavy accounts, it’s time to broaden our horizon a bit. This account deals with a passion that’s no less addictive than watches. Its name, a play on “nine-eleven,” makes it clear that this profile is all about the ultimate in sports cars: air-cooled Porsche models. This family business near Hamburg, Germany has tasked itself with the restoration and sale of these classic cars. Their Instagram account recounts the history of iconic Porsches using aesthetically pleasing images. It’s storytelling at its best! Matching the cars to watches would probably suit the account quite well, but that’s just my two cents…
