Whether you use it for inspiration, information, and/or entertainment, Instagram certainly makes it hard to put your smartphone down. Our authors regularly search the platform for the most interesting accounts – purely for research purposes, of course! With images of rare watches, the wardrobes of well-dressed gentlemen, nearly forgotten classic cars, and brilliant photography all around, we’ve discovered four accounts that are worthy of your attention.
@dresswatch
I’ve once again had the pleasure of searching up and down Instagram looking for accounts that our readers might find interesting. I’m hoping that the content on these accounts will be a bit more memorable than the recent run of Dolly Parton challenges.
My first discovery, @dresswatch, has a weakness for – what else – Vintage Rolexes. If you can’t get enough of vintage Daytonas, make sure you give this account a follow. I’ve been using the photos to test my Rolex knowledge by guessing the reference numbers of different models. I’ve gotten 6/10 so far, so there’s certainly room for improvement. There’s no doubt in mind about my favorite model, however: the Tropical Dial 6239, which you can find in the image above. This account makes for very easy scrolling, especially since most of the watches are captured from the same angles.
@lifeof_riley
Riley is one of the most in-demand stunt doubles in Hollywood. When he’s not riding a motorcycle or racing a car in The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises, Riley’s enjoying California living. He shares his passion for two and four wheelers on his personal account. Riley has an eye for photography, and his life is never short of excitement. I’ve been following his Instagram account for a long time now and have come to really appreciate his style. Alongside his bigger toys, you’ll also spot a GMT-Master 16750, which he’s had for quite a while now. The GMT is the perfect choice for someone with a penchant for vintage cars who’s always on the go.
@seikoskx
There’s no shortage of watch fans who insist that a Seiko belongs in every watch collection. If you ask for the best entry-level watch with good value for money on any social media channel, chances are this Japanese brand will be mentioned. The SKX collection is a particularly popular choice. Prior to purchasing my own SKX007, I wanted to see the watch on as many different straps as possible. This account is just what you need if your research methods are similar to mine. As its name suggests, the account exclusively features Seiko SKX models. I’m even willing to go on the record as saying that this profile is what inspired me to finally purchase my own SKX.
@andreasweinas
Last but not least, I want to offer something for the fashionistas among us, myself included. Andreas is a well-known figure on this scene, to say the least. He is the managing editor of Manolo.se, editor of King Magazine, and an interview partner on countless blogs, including The Rake. His name always seems to pop up in conversations around good style. His impeccable fashion sense extends to his wrist. In addition to a Aquanaut 5165A and Cartier Tank Americaine, you’ll also catch glimpses of a 5711 – only when it complements his outfit, of course. If you’re looking to update your wardrobe or seeking inspiration for your next watch purchase, check out Andreas’ profile first; you won’t be disappointed.
